A full-day workshop will engage 16 undergraduate students in robotics research through paper reading, networking, and hands-on activities. The workshop aims to increase self-efficacy related to conducting successful research, increase interest in robotics research, enhance students’ conference attendance experience and provide concrete next steps. The workshop will provide formal and informal interaction with counter stereotypical [MA1] researchers through talks and a panel. Four graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds will be selected to assist with workshop as panelists and moderators during the paper reading and successful conference participation events[MA2] . The event will be held in person to facilitate networking and will be advertised through various channels, including department chairs and professional mailing lists. Participants from undergraduate institutions without research programs and first-generation students will receive priority.
